Off to the Enduro Africa 2007 "get together"

Well I'm off to meet some of my intrepid colleagues for the Africa trip in October / November 2007.

We're meeting at a pub in High Holborn in London for some beers and lots of bike chat... cannot wait. It'll be great to meet some of the team and to plug the Bike Nut Swap... and the trip Facebook group: Enduro Africa 2007.

Better go...

The Final Straight...

Well, we’re making great progress and we’re in the final straight. We’ve got the NSR125 from Ronan and it’s being re-registered. It’s insured, getting MOT’d and will then get a shiny new numberplate. We’re writing to the bike magazines, shops and companies to see if we can get any further SWAP interest from them.

The Enduro Africa planning is in it’s final stages with date confirmed (26th October) and bikes on order.

This is a fantastic cause (Riders for Health) and your support is really appreciated. So make a donation … or better still, swap something for a Honda NSR!

Unnnnnnnnnbelievableeeeeeeee

All hail the hero that is Ronan. Out of the blue, I got an email from (quite probably the most generous ever) Ronan offering a swap of a lifetime…. The Nokia phone for a nearly new, top quality Honda NSR 125 super sprint motorbike. Yes, a motorbike. A thing of rare beauty and precision.

The bike is currently in Dublin so we are sorting out the logistics, but it appears we’ve got a MEGA-swap on the cards.

Record-breakin’, eye-waterin’, mind-blowin, earth-shatterin, top-rockin, high-revvin’ dream-machine. Thanks Ronan, you are a God.

Swap 7 - Let's get mobile

Swap 7 - and we're moving on up. We've swapped the West Wing (season six) DVD set for a Nokia 7370. Thanks GP.

Dazzle with its swivel design, leather-inspired accents and etched metal surface. Be inspired by the brilliance of its 2inch, 262,000-colour QVGA display. Click with the 1.3 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. Groove with the video ringtones and integrated 3D stereo speakers. Ahh, feel the quality.

This is a great swap and may go quickly... So please dig deep and find something interesting, valuable and popular ... and swap away.

Swap 6: 24 for West Wing

It's getting serious now (thanks to the lovely and superbly-generous Rachel).
We've got the West Wing. All of it ... the whole thing. Packed, wrapped, pristine and brand new. Unwatched by human eyes. The sixth season. The best yet.
So come on, sift through your Christmas presents, wanted or unwanted, and find something of real value. And season six of the West Wing can be yours to savour.
[To make a swap, just post a comment offering your swap and I'll get back to you ASAP.]

Swap 5: James Bond for Jack Bauer

That's right. James Bond has been swapped for Jack Bauer.
007 for 24.
Licenced to kill, for Programmed for thrill.
Now we're rolling. A full series of agent Jack Bauer. That's right. Day 5, 24. In all his hard-bitten glory. Doing the right thing. And nailing the bad guys.
And now it can be yours ... if you can just find something to swap for it...
Dig deep... and spread the word. It's for charity. What would Jack do?

Swap 4: Classic CD for Casino Royale

Then we swapped the Classic CD for a real winner... Bond, James Bond. Yes, we started 2007 with 007.

Tibbet classical music CD got changed for classic Bond in Casino Royale.

Swap 2: Allen Key for Classical CD

Swap 2 came in early January 2007.

We swapped our trusty allen key for a classical CD:

If music is the food of life, then feast your eyes on this 'supersize me mega meal'. The trusty, shiny allen key (below) has been swapped for a CD of the finest classical music in all the land. (Thanks dvc).

A CD even shinier than the key, even more useful and full of pleasure-giving potential... A handy drinks coaster for your finest cocktail... Or a shiny, circular mirror to reflect on your finer features... Or a source of the sweetest, most inspiring tunes that life can offer, warming your soul and lifting your spirits.

Tippet conducts Tippet (and who better to). Symphonies 2 and 4, by the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Oh yes. Escape to a world of enchantment as the notes slowly drift (that's enough...)

Swap 1: Nut for Allen Key

The first swap was done in December 2006...

We swapped the nut for an allen key:

Good luck, little nut. Live long and prosper little nut.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

A motorbike from a tiny nut...

Here's the deal... I'm trying to raise £10,000 for charity by September 2007.

To do this, I am trying to swap a tiny nut (as in bolt, not pea) all the way up to a brand new motorbike. And I need your help.

Check out the latest offering... then find something more valuable (to me) to swap it for.

We'll keep stepping up until we've got a brand new bike.

Please help... it's for a great cause: Riders for Health, delivering medicine and paramedic care where it is needed most in Africa.
